SOLMAN 7.1- Basic Configration Issue

In this automatic activity, you set up the CUP scenario, activating the BI content and the extractors.

Requirements

 

  • You have performed the activity SSO Setup.
  • If you run your SAP BW system on a separate client/system, you have performed activity Create RFC to BW.
  • The SAP_SM_BASIC_SETTINGS role is assigned to the user who performs the setup.
  • If you run your SAP BW system on a separate client/system, the SAP_SM_BASIC_SETTINGS role is assinged to the RFC user.
  • The RFC connection between your SAP Solution Manager system and SAP BW system is established.

Activities

You cannot perform this activity manually.

Performing the activity automatically, the following changes are made to your system:

 

  • In the extractor framework, the 0SM_CUP - Customer Usage entries are generated based on BI content cubes.
  • The system performs a scheduling for data extraction. The extracted data is serialized into XML structures, encrypted and transferred to SAP global support backbone. This data is analyzed and helps SAP to understand the customer’s situation and provide better service and support.

CHARM configuration

hi all

 

I had configured  CTS without using CHARM and document management in SOLMAN 7.0 using maintenance project  . now my client is already upgraded to 7.1 with SP 05. I have very limited knowledge on the CHARM.

Now they want to use full functionality of CHARM to control big template project. there are several business processes  in the template project and under each business process there are list of RICEF objects.

 

Please help here to find the correct method to select  the project whether maintenance, implementation ,etc.,  , and how to configure CHARM to support individual business process

Message ags_work_appln.sap when attempting to Configure System Monitoring

Hi, Solman experts,

 

When I attempt to select option Configure System Monitoring or Maintain Solution, I get a list of our solutions, when selecting the solution, I get the message "Do you want to open or save ags_work_appln.sap (816 bytes) from salmanserverhostname.

 

When selecting Open or Save and then Open nothing appears to happen.

 

Screen looks as below.

database performance report

Hi,

 

In our SAP Solution Manager 7.1 configured with system preparation and basic configuration in SOLMAN_SETUP and all satellite systems configured.


We want to generate database performance report for our ECC System (Managed system) through SAP SOLUTION MANAGER.


Kindly suggest steps or sap note.

CCMS sending old alerts following a system restart

We are having the problem of old ccms alerts being sent again following the system restart after our monthly Windows updates.  We are on Solman 7.1, kernel 720 Rel 40, and using Solman as the CEN for our central monitoring.  Sometimes it has repeated alerts that are 2 weeks old, most recently it was alerts from two days prior.  These alerts are set up with autoreaction methods to email someone, and so emails are being sent for the old alerts.  Has anyone seen this before or know how to prevent this?  Thanks.

external connections via saprouter

Dear all,

 

I just configured a saprouter on a client and it´s working I tested from inside the LAN (telnet to IP and port) but when I tried to connect from home via SAP-GUI I got these error, can someone tell me why? I looks like my firewall is blocking it or not, please check the error details on the screen shot.

Activate Data Separation for service provider customers

Hi experts,

 

I try to implement in SPRO "SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide" -> "SAP Solution Manager" -> "SAP Partner" -> "Service provider" -> "Work Centers for Service Provider Customers" -> "Activate Data Separation"

I can not get successful results. It seems to me the function does not work correct.

I can not understand how business partner can be assigned to customer number according to

"

You have set up job REFRESH_ADMIN_DATA_FROM_SUPPORT using the basic configuration so that customer business partners are assigned the additional external identifier of type SP1001.

Data separation according to criteria other than the SAP customer number is currently not supported."

I found no additinal information about it.

BI Process chains monitoring reports from Solution manager

Hello -

 

We have a reporting requirement from Solution manager for our BI systems.

 

In general, we are looking for a daily report from Solution manager, that will provide status about the BI process chains as below

  1. If the chain ran good or failed
  2. Start time and How long did it run
  3. No. of records and data packages processed

 

We have Solman 7.1 SP08 and I have configured BI process chains monitoring (Technical monitoring), to send out alerts as per the threshold that are configured.

 

However, for daily automated reporting from Solution manager, I did not see any feature yet.

 

Can you please advise me, if such reporting is possible via Solution manager ?

BI process chain status is Gray in BI monitoring

Hello -

We are in the process of configuring BI monitoring with our Solution manager 7.1 SP08. I have configured Solman System Prep, Basic configuration, managed system configuration for our BI system.

Technical monitoring and BI monitoring is also configured with some threshold values and it is activated,

However, in SOLMAN_WORKCENTER, when I see the process chains, the status column is gray for all the chains - Please see the image below

Can you please advise why the status is gray ? Obviously it is not monitoring the status of the chain in the managed BI system. We have a process chain that fails every day and I dont get any alert from the solution manager about it.

Also, the other columns - Duration, Not started on Time, Out of time window etc does not show actual values-- all are zeros.

I would greatly appreciate your valuable input.

Solman 7.1 CRM Web UI - Changing fields/Adding fields etc

Hi all

 

I've been using Solman 7.0 for many years and have managed ChaRM (functionally) with all configuration, screen variants etc.

 

I'm very new to CRM Web Client UI and I have the requirement to update fields and add new fields.  Two examples below:

 

1. SMCR (Change Request) has been copied to ZMCR. By default, Change Manager and Change Advisory Board appears as roles in Web UI. I want to remove Change Advisory Board so it doesn't appear. I want to rename Change Manager to Approver. I have already created a partner function called Approver and added this to the Partner Determination Procedure against ZMCR.

 

Any assistance would be appreciated!!

 

2. My second example is adding a new field. We managed our incidents (i.e. service desk) in a non-sap system. Therefore I want a field so I can add the Incident number from our Incident Management System. I will call this Incident ID.  How do I create a new field and assign it to the transaction?

Create an ad-hoc EWA in Solution manager 7.1 SP8

Hello there,

I want to generate an ad-hoc EWA report in solman 7.1 sp8. I just could not find the correct link to do this. Automatic generation works fine every week.

 

I saw in some documents to go to "System Monitoring" work center. But I could not find that work center in my solman. Below are the list of work centers I have.

"User Not in validity period" in Managed System Configuration - Create Users (Java)

The basic error is that during Managed System Configuration of the Java stack of my Solution Manager system -- and for any Java system, for that matter -- in Step 6 "Create Users" I have a persistent error status of "User Not in validity period" for the SAPSUPPORT user.  The user already exists, because it was created successfully during the ABAP portion of the Managed System Config.  Furthermore, the "Update Existing User" action did successfully assign the three Java roles (SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL_READONLY, SAP_JAVA_SUPPORT, and SAP-J2EE-ENGINE.SAP_JAVA_SUPPORT).  I have confirmed that the SAPSUPPORT user, the SOLMAN_ADMIN user, my own user account, and every other possibly relevant service user account I can think of is active, valid, not locked, etc.  Yet, still I cannot get past this error.

 

This is a SolMan 7.1 sps10 system, so the corrections from Notes 1748202 and/or 1684720 are already in place.  Furthermore, I have already created a role with Spml_Read_Action and Spml_Write_Action and assigned it to my own user and SOLMAN_ADMIN, as described in Note 1647157.  Every discussion thread or Note I've found in searching indicates these should solve the problem, but I still have the problem.

 

So, has anyone run into this and resolved it?  Or have ideas of where else to look for the mysterious validity period?

SM37 job running a long time after SP10 update.

Hello SAP community,

 

I recently applied support package stack 10 to my Solution Manager 7.1 system on an IBM i V7R1 machine.

 

After applying the support packs, I began to get an idea of what configuration steps I would need to carry out by looking at solman_setup in display mode. 

 

During that time I also noticed a job running under my name in sm37, SM_MIGR:CL_ITCAL_INHERIT_WM_MIGR and this job was executing program RAGS_SISE_SCENARIO_MIGRATION.

 

I looked everywhere I could think but I was unable to find what this job is, what it does, what triggered it, etc. This is a big deal because it was running over 12 hours and using nearly half the cpu available on the machine. Because of this I canceled the job.

 

 

So what I would like to get from the community is, do I need to rerun this job? What is this job for? What triggered it to run?

Solman Managed Systems - 7 Create Users

Dear experts,

 

I am trying to configure Solution manager 7.1.

I am at Managed Systems>>7. Create Users

(The managed system is Solman itself)

 

There are 4 steps at this point.

 

I get the following error:

User ... is not allowed to perform this request. Check SAP Note 1647157.

 


Note 1647157 - How to Set up Access to the SPML Service on AS Java

 

 

In this note it is stated that I need to create some role, but I do not have such option.

 

Could you please shortly give some hint? Am I missing something?

Performance of some Solution Manager jobs

Hi all

We are suddenly experiencing issues with two jobs

1.  SAP_LMDB_NOTIFY_LDB_0000000001

This job sometimes takes over 80 hours and has to be killed.

 

2. DIAGST_CHECK_STORES

We have suddenly found this job creted by SM_EFWK running in our system. it appears to run for over 8 hours.

I have searched for notes or any information about this but an unable to find anything.

Can anyone shed more light on this? What triggers it?

 

Is there anything that can be done about these two jobs from a performance perspective? The reason is thet the Solution manager system has a consistently high CPU usage

Solman 7.1 SP7 finding sold-to party when creating a new ZMIN

Hello experts,

 

Hi, I am configuring service desk in Solution Manager 7.1 SP7. When a user creats a new inicdent (ZMIN) he has to fill the field "sold-to party". This field is empty by default. Why? Because the IBase is empty too and in SPRO "Define Partner Determination Procedure" finding "sold-to party" is defined with parameter "Preceding Document --> SAP Service: Determination via IBase/ind. Object from Ref". So, no IBase no "sold-to party".

In Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 this construct works very well, because when setting the userparameters IBC and IIB a new incident (ZLFN) always uses this values as default IBase.

In Solution Manager 7.1 this userparameters are not working anymore. .

Is it possible to set a default "sold-to party" value, when a user creats a new ZMIN-Incident? Or is it possible to set a default IBase value?

ITSM - Task Configuration

Hi all,

 

I'm struggling with the configuration of Service Request Follow-ups and Tasks inside of 7.1 SP10.

 

We've created Z-types of both Service Requests and Tasks. While from the 'Create' quick links on the left-hand side of the CRM UI I can have it launch our Z-type Service Request, I cannot figure out how to get it to launch the Z-type Task.

 

Also, when in a Service Request and needing to create a Task via the follow-up link, I can't determine where to config the follow-up listing to not include the standard task and include our Z-type.

 

Any thoughts on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Database Extractor Setup Problem during Managed System Config

Good day

 

Solman 7.1 on Oracle 10.2.0.4 and HP-UX

 

When doing the solman_setup step, during phase 8 of Managed System Configuration, the step "Database Extractor Setup" fails and shows red led. The log file at the bottom of page says "Oracle Diagnostic Package is not marked as licensed". How do I resolve this? Entire solman setup and managed system config up to this point has been successful. We purchased our Oracle from SAP so I'm sure we are licensed.

 

Is this a bug? How do I fix this? I've read notes regarding the Oracle diagnostics pack for the dbacockpit, but I cannot find any information on how to enable the licensing or fix this if it is a bug.

SAP Host Agent not collecting OS Data

Hi Experts, running into a frustrating issue during Managed System Configuration in Solution Manager 7.1.

 

I am unable to complete the setup on a specific set of servers due to the Host Agent seemingly not collecting OS level information.

 

My hostagent is version 178, my diagnostics agent executables are 720 patch 100, and I have restarted these multiple times.

DAA is registered in SLD and the agent is connected to SolMan and visible in Agent Administration.

 

The SAP instance on that system is 702 SP8 . (Does the agent have to match the SAP instance?)

 

The checkmark for "Supplied by Outside Discovery" is blank in System Landscape editor as seen below:

Within the log viewer, I am seeing errors such as "Exception calling SAPHostControl Web Service"

But I can access the testing XML file on the server via going to http://hostname:1128/SAPOscol/?wsdl .

 

These are the logs in agent admin log viewer:

Because the Host Agent OS collector is not seeing OS level information, I cannot complete managed system setup.

 

 

Please help, I'm at the end of my rope!
