BI Process chains monitoring reports from Solution manager

Hello -

 

We have a reporting requirement from Solution manager for our BI systems.

 

In general, we are looking for a daily report from Solution manager, that will provide status about the BI process chains as below

  1. If the chain ran good or failed
  2. Start time and How long did it run
  3. No. of records and data packages processed

 

We have Solman 7.1 SP08 and I have configured BI process chains monitoring (Technical monitoring), to send out alerts as per the threshold that are configured.

 

However, for daily automated reporting from Solution manager, I did not see any feature yet.

 

Can you please advise me, if such reporting is possible via Solution manager ?

Change Request creation with SOLAR01 issue

Hello,

 

I have an issue when creating Change Transactions with reference to a Project Structure.

 

When I start the creation from transaction SOLAR01, on the tab Service Messages, and I create a new "Change Transaction" (of transaction type YMCR, a copy of SMCR), everything goes fine. My ticket gets created, and when I double-click it, I get into the WebUI on that ticket.

But the problem is when I do this the other way around. When I create a Request for Change in the WebUI, and I assign a project and project node to it,

it DOES appear at the correct location in SOLAR01. However, it appears with type "BMIS - Message". And that causes that when I click the ticket, it opens a url which thinks this ticket is an incident, which is completely wrong and un-editable (the button "display message" also goes to a screen with nothing in it):

And the strangest part is, when I try to create a message of type BMIS, the transaction types SMCR and YMCR are not even available there. So I really wonder how / why SolMan determines the message type BMIS, and if there is any place where this behaviour can be changed.

 

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with this!

Hello,

 

I'm facing a problem with the upgrade of a support package stack in solution manager 7.1 with Windows / Sybase.  I'm upgrading from SPS08 to SPS10 and the upgrade is stuck in the phase MAIN_SHDCRE/SUBMOD_SHDDBCLONE/DBCLONE for about 3 days.  The log DBCLONE.LOG keeps updating almost like once a minute and it shows the following message:

I checked the database if there was space missing but everything checks OK with the space.

HP Quick test Pro - what is the technical effort behind the scenes ?

We are a enterprise support customer and I would like to look into the HP quick test pro with sap solution manager as an automated way of testing.

As a enterprise customer we are entitled to two free licences.

 

I would like to know how much effort is needed from other resources (Basis)  to get the tool going (meaning just the technical side of it).  Is it just  a case of Basis to download the software from the marketplace and installing it on my notebook , and I do the rest  or would you say there is more too it?

Please share me the feature that we can implement/ use with this particular configuration and provide some documentation to implement the Solman Project Administration feature and the process we follow to use the project planning.

Hi Experts,

 

I am involved in a SAP upgrade project where we are upgrading system from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0. We are also using SAP Solution Mgr. ( Ver 7.0 EHP1) which is presently connected only to ECC 5.0 for Change request process. We are planning to use SolMan after ECC 6.0 go-live, before that  I would like to know whether we can use our existing Solution Mgr.ChaRM for retrofit activities so that ECC 5.0 related changes can be migrated in to new ECC 6.0 environment till we go-live with new version. Is this something recommended? I appreciate sharing any of related documentation on this. Please let me know.

EWA report emailing

Hi,

I want to configure SAP EWA report emailing from Solution Manager 7.1 SPS8.

I have configured the same and i am receiving the email. The EWA report is contained in the body of the email, but where as i wanted the EWA report to be attached as a pdf or a word document.

solar02 document list for configuration tab

we have one project with around 300 business process, there are various nodes and sub nodes, for each node, in solar02, there is one tab called " configuration", consultants put configuration document (document naming convention COND_01-****.doc, for example) under this tab.

 

there are around 1000 subnodes, some has no configuation document attached to the "configuration" tab in solar02. so how to pull and export all those documents start with "COND****.doc" in solar02?  if not possible, is there any way to find out where are all "COND***.doc? inside which subnode

 

any table we can use for search? thanks


test case sequence and email workflow

Hi all,

 

I configured the SolMan 7.1 with test case sequence and email workflow.

I created the tester users as employees in transaction BP too. The email was sent to testers after the Test Plan is released . However the second tester can also execute his test case before the first test case finished. I also checked if some tester user is assigned several times along the same test package (e.g. test case sequence 1, test case sequence 3 and test case sequence 5) this user also can execute his test cases even if test case sequence 2 and test case sequence 4 not finished yet.

 

Can anybody tell me about the items bellow, please ?
1) why the second tester can also execute his test case before the first test case finished ?
2) why some tester user assigned several times along the same test package (e.g. test case sequence 1, test case sequence 3 and test case
sequence 5) this user also can execute his test cases even if test case sequence 2 and test case sequence 4 not finished yet ?

 

How to solve item 1 and 2 above, please ?

BAPI to read Document!

Solman 7.1 SP7 finding sold-to party when creating a new ZMIN

Hello experts,

 

Hi, I am configuring service desk in Solution Manager 7.1 SP7. When a user creats a new inicdent (ZMIN) he has to fill the field "sold-to party". This field is empty by default. Why? Because the IBase is empty too and in SPRO "Define Partner Determination Procedure" finding "sold-to party" is defined with parameter "Preceding Document --> SAP Service: Determination via IBase/ind. Object from Ref". So, no IBase no "sold-to party".

In Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 this construct works very well, because when setting the userparameters IBC and IIB a new incident (ZLFN) always uses this values as default IBase.

In Solution Manager 7.1 this userparameters are not working anymore. .

Is it possible to set a default "sold-to party" value, when a user creats a new ZMIN-Incident? Or is it possible to set a default IBase value?

How to change status of Request for Change to Implemented manually in charm

Hi Experts,

 

I am currently working on charm, solman 7.1 sp08.

 

1) There are some Request for Change which contain normal change and general change. The normal change is in "Imported into Production" and general change status is "withdrawn". Now I want to complete this RfC and its current status is "Being Implemented". How I can make RfC status "Implemented" manually.

 

 

2) Also there is One Request for Change for which I have changed status from "Confirm" to "RFC Approved" by report "CRM_SOCM_SERVICE_REPORT"  . Now I am not able to change this RfC status by any way (not able to change status from actions and not by the report "CRM_SOCM_SERVICE_REPORT")

 

Kindly help me to resolve these issues.

Capturing effort estimation for ChaRM chages

Hi ,

 

I am using Solman 7.1 SP6

 


We follow ChaRM process like creating RFCs & then CDs and deliver chnages to production.

 

I want to know where to capture Effor Estimation for particular change.

 

I know we can add the efforts spent in Time Recording for Particular chnage. But this is not the estimated effort, this is actual effort.

 

But is there any way where I can submit the Effort Estimation before we actually start working on change in RFC.

 

No clue but can we use Service Request for same, will it allow to capture effort estimation.

Setting up CUA in Solution manager (trusted connections)

Hello, I am working on setting up CUA on solution manger 7.1 , we currently have CUA up and running on a non solution manager system . I want  to start using solution  manager for CUA , I am  setting CUA up in a separate client of solution manager , I am having problems getting the trusted connections  working between solution manager and the child system that was set up with managed config.  Example:  in  solution manger system A11,  i have a child trusted connection SM_T02CLNT000_TRUSTED which points to T02,   while in T02 I have a trusted connection to A11 , SM_A11CLNT001_TRUSTED, both of these connections are working ok when I do the test connection and test auth checks, and in managed config, they show green.

 

I set up the child system in A11 CUA  ( SALE ,We20 is set up for T02 in A11 ,and  We21 in A11 for T02 points to the trusted connection SM_T02CLNT000_TRUSTED) . When I go to SCUA and enter the system T02CLNT000  it gives me an RFC connection error.  I was expecting that the  trusted connections already defined by managed conf. would work ok for CUA, Is this not the case?

DAA does not detect SAP Content Server

I have installed SAP Content server 6.40 / Maxdb 7.80 in order to support SAP PLM implementation. I installed the DAA / Host software on the server. When I went to Solution Manager configuration I noticed that all Solution Manager detects is the IIS installation it does not detect it's content server or the MAXDB instance. I can manually insert them but the need there is no technical system or product system to define and the manually added components are not selectable is diagnostics relevant. How do you attach a SAP content server and MAXDB instance to the Solution Manager landscape in such a way as to have it auto detect the installed components.  The same situation applies to our TREX server, it installed, the diagnotics agent installed but all that is detected in the managed host configuration screen is the IIS installation. Any information concerning this type of configuration would be appreciated

 

OS for all servers is Windows 2008 R2

[Solution Documentation] import the RBPD in Solman 7.1

Hi,

 

I want to import the RBPD (Repository Business Process Documentation) in solman 7.1

I downolad it from the market place (link : https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/swdc)

(path : “Support Packages and Patches” - “A – Z index” - “S” - “SAP Solution Manager” - “SAP Solution Manager 7.1” - "Entry by componant" - “Additional content”

file : ST-RBPD-ERP 100)


In the section "Content interface" of "Solution Documentation Assistant" tab of the workcenter I imported the zipped file RBPD and the analysis project has been created correctly.

When I consult the analysis project, I discovered that the structure (titles of my processes and steps, ... etc) are in german language and only the transactions description are in english language.

 

How can I have all the structure (titles of my processes and steps, .. etc) in english?

Transport a Project

We are working with projects (TX solar_project_admin, solar_01, solar_02). As a result or a new procedure. We need to obligate (to force) the user to make a link of every transport with a project (no matter the instance)

 

We don't use CHaRM or CTS, we just use the standard transport

 

How we can do that?

Unified Job Monitoring cannot safe alert configuration

Hello everyone,

 

currently i'm trying to get the new unified Job-Monitoring in SolMan 7.1 SP10 to work.

 

I can run all setup steps properly but when it comes to point "5.2 Alert Configuration" it seems like my configurationcannot be safed.

 

This are the steps i'm doing:

 

1. Mark the Jobs i want to configure alerts for.

2. Fill in the informations and tresholds for my alerts.

 

Here is what i'm looking at now:

3. When i click on "Save" i get an success-Message but my configuration is lost:

Also when i generate this configuration it will not be safed.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Change Document in SOLAR01

Hi,

 

Whenever I change a document in SOLAR01, I would want to see the change time and the user changed in the SA01PHI0 table.

 

But, unfortunately, the fields chng_user and chng_time always shows the time the user had first created it.

 

I am building a program to retrieve all these lists.

 

Let me know if I need to look in any other table or is there any other way to retrieve it.
