QGM for Maintenance project

$

0

We would like to activate QGM for a maintenance project but are not ready to activate ChaRM.

Since ChaRM normally takes care of the different change types such as normal, standard and urgent changes we will not have that functionality. Besides I understand QGM changes to be regarded as normal changes.

Now - will we be able to do urgent transports in a maintenance project that only are activated for QGM? If not, do you see any possible workarounds?

Thanks in advance,

storing data in diagnostic agent

Dear all,

from time to time it happens that a Wily Enterprise Manager stops but the connected diagnostic agent still is running. For how many days can the collected data be stored by the agent?

CHARM & OSDB Migration

$

We use CHARM for 3system ECC & BW landscapes and are going through an OSDB migration from HPUX to Linux. The Developers & Functional Analysts do not want to go into a freeze period or cleanup their transports in development. The SIDs are not going to change in the new environment.

Is there a way to make this seamless. Is there a way to accomplish this without changing projects or requests in Solution Manager. My thought was I would need to remove the old systems, add the new ones  and create new projects.

Does anyone know of a guide or checklist in dealing with CHARM in an OSDB migration effort.

Thanks,

Sap Router and post installation procedure of SOLMAN

$

Hi gurus

Finally I managed to install SAP Solman with no error messages, install log itself looks good. Also I managed to start SAP Solman with the default instance 00, client 001 and succeeded with SAP* login. Also I executed Solman_setup transaction and finished the very first steps, but have stacked with SAP router, so therefore I did not manage to complete all procedures that are needed to be set in solman_setup .
I've opened the ticket with SAP and registered external IP address of my Solman server as my router's IP, firewall has been configured correctly – ping of SAP router's Ip returns positive values.

Configured SAP router on my end as it's written here: https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/saprouter-sncdoc at least i do hope that everything has been configured as needed, because no error messages is being generated

There are 2 issues that troubles me:
-When I execute saprouter –r –K "p:my data goes here" command prompt window hangs on 'trcfile dev_rout no logging active' screen and nothing happens (see printscreen) . I think that smth is wrong, but have no idea what can be cause of the issue.

-When I execute oss1 in SAP gui -> technical settings and add information to SAPROUTER 1 area press login information then I got pop up window which says that'Unable to connect to SAPNET  message server….', so most likely SAP router configuration on my side is faulty?

From where do i need to start? Is there a way how to troubleshoot sap router from my side, or better to open technical message with SAP supp here?

many thanks in advance.

DAA agents in Distributed Installation

$

Hello,

Let me brief about our environment.

We installed our ABAP and Java systems as distributed installations with virtual host names in one Virtual machine( one IP address ).

scs<sid>

db<sid>

ci<sid>

These virtual host names are registered in DNS server.

Please clarify.

1)  I am new to Solution Manager configuration not sure about how to install SMD agents. Do I have to install three SMD agents for each virtual host name

or

One SMD agent is enough for whole machine.

2) One of the Solman consultants told me that, each virtual host name must have one SMD agent and one IP address.

So in One ABAP system, I have 4 SMD agents , one is for SCS, one is for DB, one is for CI and one is for physcial host ( O.S ).

Is it so ?

3) He also suggested that I can use on-the-fly feature, so one SMD agent is enough for all virtual host names and O.S.

Please guide me.

With Thanks and Regards,

venkat

Document Status Flow

Hi Experts,

In our project, we have a required that the document should have different status flow for template proejct and Implementation projects.

As I could understand, the status flows are assigned to the document in the project template tab under the Project standards --> documetation types in the project administration tcode, and also in the SPRO.

But, the same status flow is available in the template and implementation projects.

Is there any way, we can differentiate the status flow of the document based on implementaton and template projects ?

Hi everyone,

In the basic configuration of SOLMAN_SETUP on Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 SP Stack 30, I encounter the following error :

- Component ST-A/PI: release 01Q_700 is incorrect, expected 01P_700: see note 1274287

- Component ST-A/PI: release 01Q_700 is incorrect, expected 01[N-Z]_700SOL: see note 1274287

However, the report RTCCTOOL recommends to implement ST-A/PI 01Q_700 :

Outgoing email on Request for Change

Hello,

I have the following issue.

I want to use the function More - Send E-Mail on my Request for Change (transaction type YMCR, copy from SMCR).

To do this, I have added copy control entries for YMCR to 0005 Outgoing Email.

(IMG activites "Define Copying Control for Transaction Types" and "Specify Mapping Rules for Copy Control").

Now, this functionality works.

However, the Outgoing Email now also appears in the "Request for Change Scope" assignment block...

Is there any way to suppress this in the Scope block?

Many thanks in advance for advice on this,

Kind regards,

Hi, experts!

I copied standard roles for ChaRM.

When Change manager release for development RfC, proper ibase component don’t copy to change document.

It occurs if I use copied roles.

I don't see miss authorization in ST01.

Have you any idea why it happens?

Thanks,

Yuliya

Hi All,

While editing email template for notifications, can we add custom text elements (other than standard ones) which are chosen at runtime.

Here is screenshot for standard text elements available. Let me know from where to add custom one if possible.

Thanks,

Rohan

How to use reporting "select-options" on CRMWebUI

Hello,

Just for curiosity, i found that on Solution Manager ITSM CRMWEBUI search options there isn't the possibility to use select-options as is available on Abap Reports.

For example, how you can save a serach for only 10 individual "incidents", look a sample image:

The first image is for solution manager ITSM incident search options, and the second images is report CRM_DNO_MONITOR.

Thanks ¡

How To - Implement Several Changes with one Request for Change(RfC) in Solution Manager 7.1

I have noticed this requirement coming from many of my customer's of ChaRM or Change Request Management few years back that they would like to cover several types of changes within the same type of Request for Change(RfC). Earlier this wasn't possible in Solution Manager 4.0/7.0 version but now in Solution Manager 7.1, it is available.

It is now possible to create multiple Change Documents for single Request for Change(RfC) one by one or even in parallel.

For. e.g let say we have an authorized Request for Change (RfC) in BEING IMPLEMENTED state as shown below

Now for the same Request for change we can observe there is an existing General Change getting implemented. To add new Change Document just click action tab in the edit mode and choose extend scope.

Now status will be changed to Extend Scope and we can see the Insert button is visible in Request for Change Scope Assignment Block

Add a new change document say Urgent Correction to the same RfC as shown below.Click on action tab and choose Release for Approval action. Save it.

Status will be changed to TO BE APPROVED and now change manager can approve it. Once Change Manager approves it, he/she release it for development as shown below.

Upon saving above we now notice 2 Change Documents with different status running for the same Request for Change (RfC)

Thus, above steps shows how we can achieve multiple Change Documents or Implement multiple change with a single Request for Change(RfC).

Note: Normal Corrections are based upon Project Cycle or Maintenance Cycle so we have used General and Urgent Change which are independent from the project phase.

Similarly,  if we have a Request for Change(RfC) with IMPLEMENTED status for which Change Document is already complete and now we want to create a new Change Document for it. This is also possible.

Again click the action EXTEND SCOPE

Now execute the same cycle and new Change Document will be created for the existing Request for Change(RfC)
