SAP Solution Manager Patch Update (SP05 to SP08)

Hi,

 

We are planning to upgrade SAP solution Manager 7.1 from Stack 5 to Stack 8.

 

For Java stack, we have to use Software Update Manager(SUM).

For ABAP stack we have to use SAINT or it can be done via SUM itself together with Java stack ?

 

Need suggestions on what is the SAP recommencation for upgrade tool to be used for this patch update.

Creation of Support message but not sending to Support/SAP

Hello,

 

In the technical upgrade project during testing we would come accross defects which can be resolved within the project team (technical/functional team) but we dont intend to send to SAP/Support team. We are using Solution Manager for test management when we come accorss defects we would report message which will be a support message but we dont intend to send SAP/Support but to processor within the project team.

 

 

We may also have to report message which we intend to SAP/Support , so we need both the options to choose either to send or not send.

 

Please let me know how can we handle this ? Is there a way out ? Thanks in advance.

Solman Sandbox Refresh

Hi All,

 

We are having Solman system as two system landscape Development & Production. This landscape is a validated one.

 

We are also having Solution Manager Sandbox.

 

Solman Sandbox is not updated one. We want to refresh the Sandbox. Which of the below option is used to refresh Solman Sandbox

 

1)  System Restore  & refresh from Solman Production, inclusive of post processing activity of de-activating all the Production configuration and make Solman Sandbox effective.

 

2.    2) Fresh build of Solman Sandbox

Error in ChaRM configuration - SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN

Hi All,

 

We are in process of doing ChaRM configuration – change request management.

 

Here is our roadmap

 

1. Check Requirements - completed

2. Implement SAP note - completed

3. Perform standard configuration - completed

          3.1 Configure manually - completed

          3.2 Maintain transaction types - completed

          3.3 Configure automatically - completed

          3.6 Perform additional configuration - completed

          3.5 Create user template - completed

4. Perform Operational configuration - completed

5. Configure Landscape

          5.1 Configure TMS – completed

          5.2 Configure CTS(non-ABAP)

6. Perform administrative tasks - pending

7. Configure UI - pending

8. Perform extended Configuration - pending

 

We are configuring BW(ABAP), ECC(ABAP), XI(Dual) stack systems.

 

Can you please clarify me in the following?

 

1. Do we require to include domain controller in the configuration? Among BWD, BWQ, BPV(Virtual system). Instead of using BWP we are using BPV in the configurtion.

2. In step 5.2 - We have dual stack systems, is it mandatory to perform this step for dual stack systems?

3. In step 6 - We created a project 'PROJECT1' and assigned logical system to BWD and BWQ. But when I click on check configuration I get the below error.

 

Error: System BWP is not known in the change manager. But I havn't included BWP anywhere in the Project and ChaRM configuration.

 

Can you please tell where could be the issue is?

[AIM: Conditions for actions] Making a condition depending on previous status?

Hi all.

The idea is to make an e-mail notofication for processor when the end user rejects proposed solution or provide some new information (when status "proposed solution"/"customer action" is changed to "in process"). Without making a new status.

I didn't find any expression like "Previous status" in condition formating of the action.

I tried to use this condition "&CRM Service Request.Changed By = &CRM Service Request.Created By" (so it means that if the last user who changed the incident was the reporter of the incident - the processor should be notified). But it doesn't work.

 

Any ideas?

Managed system config-Byte code installation issue

Hi,

 

We are facing issue in byte installation issue in managed system configuration in configure automatically step. The error is 


SOAP:1.007 SRT: Unsupported xstream found: ("HTTP Code 500 : Internal Server Error")

 

The solman is 7.1 SP8 and the managed system is Enterprise Portal 7.0 with multiple instances, I have already cheked the note 1396999 and my LM SERVICE  is uptodate.

 

Please help in fixing this.

Status is not editable

Dear Sir,

 

I have a Solman Ticket Number and want to change the status of that Ticket but It is not editable even in change mode. For this case I have attached a Screen Shot.

 

Some tickets are also not convert into change mode and raise this type of error "Document is being distributed - changes are not possible."

Consolidated status overview for all test plan

Hi all,

 

We are performing our Integration test from SolMan. I would like to generate a consolidated report which will give me data same way as the status overview gives for individual test plan.

 

This will help me to track the progress at the test package level, which inturn is my IT scenario.

 

Any quick help will be highly appreciated.

Test Note (Documentation Type) when creating Test Plan

Hi,

 

We are using Solution Manager 7.1 for test management.

 

Question: While creating a test plan we have to select the 'Test Note Document Type' from the drop down list appearing in the 'Defaut' tab of the test plan. Does anyone know where this list is coming from or how I can configure this?

 

There is a document type that we created in the project admin to be used for the test note . However that document type is not appearing in the drop down list.

 

Please suggest.

Upgrade files

Hi,

I am in the process of upgrading from NW 7.01 to NW 7.4

I have generated the xml file from the solution  manager and downloaded the files in the download basket.

 

But as per the media guide, it tells me to download mat no 51046225, but i dont see this in the download basket and the xml file.

 

Please advice of why this material no did not come in the xml file or get added to the download basket.

 

Also please tell me, if xml file is only for support package and still i need to download the media.

 

Please assist.

EWA Report Security Issues Highlighted

As I am generating EWA Report in every week.I am getting some issues regarding the same for Production Server.

As of now we are in the Kernel of 701 with patch level 196.Can anyone please help me out for the same.Screenshot is attached.

Please help me out as it is a production issue guys.

ITSM: End user screen: Messages Reported by Me

Hi,

 

Can anyone pls confirm whether the option "Messages Reported by Me" is missing in SP07. This is in CRM UI Home screen as a end user. In SP05 I was able to see all the messages Reported by Me. in SP07 I am seeing only message Assigned to Me block in personalization.

Solutions - How to configure them and EWA in SolMan 7.1?

Hello,

 

We are using Solution Manager 7.1 (SP 5) and have it totally configured for Change management. We are also getting up to speed with Technical Monitoring.

 

But, we recently were wanting to get an Early Watch Alert report for our sandbox system (and later our Dev and Production systems), and we found that these have changed with 7.1. And it seems we have to have our Solutions fully set up in order to then utilize the EWA reports system.

 

The first big problem we have is we do not know much about Solutions and how they work, how they are set up, configured, etc. And finding information that isn't super high level is quite daunting. SAP loves the word 'solution' so searching for information on Solutions is proving to be super difficult, as is finding information on how to get the EWA reports set up under this new Solutions system.

 

We have been using Projects with our Change Mgmt as opposed to Solutions due to this problem with not being able to find good information about them.

 

But, we did have other people in our organization try to create Solutions only they didn't fully understand what they were doing. So, we probably will have to start all over, if we cannot edit the existing ones. but, of course, deleting them might be a bad idea at this point in the game, so we are really needing is some solid detailed instructions on both Solutions and EWA's in the era of SolMan 7.1.

 

So, if anyone can help us with this that would be fantastic!!

Sync SMSY + Lmdb : no product find in SMSY but exist in lmdb

I have an issue in the transaction SMSY.

I need to create a logical system.

But I don't find the product system SAP Netweaver 7.4 in the

transaction SMSY. When I go to LMDB, I can see the product.

 

My system managed is an SAP PI 7.4

 

Could you help me please?

I need to create this logical system 7.4 to finish the managed system of PI.

Error while creating static TBOM

Hi folks,

 

We're in the process of trying to build up and finalize our business blueprint. Part of this is the use of the program AGS_BPCA_TBOM_STATIC_GEN to generate static TBOMs for all our transactions/programs.

 

When we first ran it, we got results that linked TBOM's to our development system. We were expecting the program to hit the QA system as well, but it did not.

 

We want to run it against our QA system as it's more reflective of our production system and we want to be accurate when we start to utilize the BPCA for support packs

 

Now that we've been trying to specifically target just the QA system by removing the DEV environment from the logical component, we are getting the following error:

 

"

No logical system for system role C and logical component Z_NONPROD_ERP_ECC_SERVER"

 

We know that System role C is our development system, but thought we had gotten around that by having the navigation role for the solution point at the quality assurance system.

 

Has anyone come across this issue and what the fix is so that we can generate TBOMs against our QAP system?

How to change the default OS user when adding a system in CEN?

Hello,

 

I'm trying to add a system to CEN via RZ21.  The procedure requires to input the password of the OS user (<sid>adm) on the monitored system.

However, the local <sid>adm user does not exist.  Instead, we use a domain user ID (domain_name\<sid>adm).  Also, the User Name field seems to be fixed or can't be changed.  Is there a way to make this field changeable so that I could input the domain? If it can't be changed, how can I add a system to CEN given this situation?
